Radish sprouts
Young radish seedlings with two small leaves, fresh, juicy and distinctly peppery like radish.
Radish sprouts come packaged in the produce section of larger supermarkets, in organic shops and in Asian grocers, often near the fresh herbs. They can also be grown from radish seeds on a windowsill in a few days.
Substitute:
Garden cress comes closest in peppery bite but is finer and less crunchy. Thin matchsticks of radish give the sharpness but not the fresh green.
